Concrete trucks

Back and forth and back and forth, beep beep beep, and grind, grind, grind.

That was the soundtrack we listened to today!  I never knew it was going to take soooo many concrete trucks to fill those little ditches, but it did!  I lost count.

The footers are filled, and the supply company just came and dropped off a ton of concrete bricks, sand, and more concrete bags.   We'll see what transpires tomorrow!   The good news is that there isn't a lick of rain in the forecast, so I'm expecting good things in the next two weeks.

This is the only spot I can really make out.  Where the fireplace goes!

I've never been so happy to hear the roar of construction equipment all day!

Woooohooooooooo!   I stood in the keeping room this afternoon!    lol

Well, what's going to be the keeping room!  We are finally making some headway on our house.  The builders started early last week.   Then, they were broadsided by an idiot who ran a stop sign and were very lucky to survive!  They took a not-so-joyous ride in an ambulance and took the rest of the week off, but I'm glad that they are healing and back on the job this week.  Not just for the sake of my house, but for the McCaleb brothers and their families!

OK... so I know nothing about house building.   From my perspective, today the trenches were dug that the concrete will fill to start the foundation.   It's really kinda weird to look at this dirt and know that years down the road this day will be just a distant memory.  I'm so excited and can't wait to watch it grow into my family's home!

This is the very back corner of the house, which will be a little covered porch off the kitchen.   The keeping room in the middle and another closed in porch off the back.  The far other side will be the  master.
